Into The Darkness

And into the darkness she returned once again,
to try find that beauty that once lay within.
Through pain and through sorrow,
She bravely fought on.
Because she knew in her heart that this battle was won.
No demons nor monsters could conquer her now.
Because the light in her heart would show her how.
No matter the suffering, the sorrow, the pain.
She will find that meaning,
in life once again.
The world has broken her in more ways than one.
But the fire in her spirit will carry her on.

For the one who lay broken, unloved and forlorn.
Will soon become the light that carries her home.
So dont despair when that darkness arrives.
Invite it in, and see through its eyes.

For in that great void, neath the pain and the strife.
Lies a great truth about you and your life.

Let fear be your teacher on this rocky road,
For there’s hope and there’s love that will lighten the load.
Just open yourself up to what lies within,
For the strength inside will always win.

So stay in that darkness until the light glimmers through.
Because Its waiting patiently, silently for you.

A Born survivor

No fairly tale childhood,
No suburban dream life.
No happily ever after,
Is ever in sight.
In rough seas with no anchors or oars to help steer.
They bounce through their lives with pain and with fear.
But they get up each day as  they have no choice.
Because a lifetime of pain has stolen their voice.
Love or help is nowhere to be found.
So, into themselves, they just quietly drown.
Away from the chatter, they retreat, and they heal.
From the hurt and the pain that the world makes them feel.
And upwards, they rise with their heads held high.
To survive another day and reach for the sky. 
Their wings are all tattered and dirty within,
They know that in this life, they won’t always win.
And as they wait  patiently for love to arrive.
This world will not beat them.
They were born to survive.
